Where to Find Structural Metal Remnants

Metal remnants are usable parts of the steel or aluminum that’s leftover after a larger piece is used. Remnants come in all shapes, sizes and lengths. Sometimes metal distributors don’t keep remnants on hand because they are difficult inventory properly. Finding remnants when you just need a few pieces for smaller projects can be a journey to no where.

Although that is possible, that is not the case for all metal distributors. Some of the Structural steel supply companies may have remnants of different metals on hand that you can purchase. Metal supply companies already have a ton of inventory to do. Some of them will still keep an inventory of remnants to keep from wasting perfectly good metal. These are generally sold at a certain price per pound.

They should be able to give you a general idea of what they have in stock. This will keep you from having to physically go from one metal supply company to another.

Find out the prices per pound that you will be paying for the remnants. Let them know what type of project you are doing. Giving their sales person a visual of your project will help them determine if they have the type of metal that you need.

The price per pound on metal may vary from one distributor to another. Get a couple of quotes from different metal supply companies that have the products you need. Once you find the metal remnants you need, all you have to do is order it and have it delivered or visit their warehouse and pick it up yourself. Same day delivery is often available and not every distributor requires that you order a certain amount in order to be delivered.
