Is air duct cleaning a necessity?

It is debatable whether air duct cleaning in Minneapolis is a necessity or not. Polls have been taken and many homeowners claim that they have witnessed certain health benefits as well as economic benefits after they have had the HVAC ducts in their house cleaned, however, there are also those that have not seen these same benefits. After all is said and done the consumer is the only one who can decide whether duct cleaning is beneficial or not and if the expense is worm it when the benefits are factored in.

Studies have proven that air duct cleaning in Minneapolis does have a positive effect on the air quality in the home, many people who were included in the surveys state that their allergies improved dramatically after their duct system was cleaned. It only makes sense that this would be the result being that the air that is being driven through the ductwork is the same air that the family members are breathing. If the ducts are contaminated; full of mold spores, dust, allergens, bacteria, etc it is only normal to conclude that the elimination of these contaminates will result in an improved air quality.

There are reports that the system efficiency improved as well after duct cleaning was done. Once the ducts are free from debris the air flow is greatly improved, the result being that the system does not have to expend the same energy to move the air, thus lowering the energy consumption and the cost.

There are a number of factors that seem to have an effect on the value of air duct cleaning in Minneapolis. Those homes which are very dusty, older homes, homes where there are pets or in parts of the country that have a high pollen count seem to benefit more that homes that do not have the same issues. It has to be said that general cleanliness also is a factor; a home which has unkempt rooms or areas is bound to generate more dust than those that are well maintained.

There continues to be an on-going debate about the effectiveness of air duct cleaning. Organizations such as the EPA, Environmental protection Agency are of the opinion that duct cleaning should be done on an “as needed” basis while there are advocates of having the process done every four or five years. The choice is to the account of the homeowner, what is important is that when it is done, it is done right.
